This question was the starting point for the development of Amvel’s unique water-repellent technology, Easy-Dry . We wanted to do more than just repel raindrops; we wanted to beautifully transform the "urban etiquette" that begins the instant you close your umbrella.

The root of the stress: "lingering water droplets"

In the past, umbrella water repellency focused primarily on the initial "water-shedding" capability. However, as the umbrella is used, that repellency fades, the fabric absorbs water and becomes heavy, and your hands get wet every time you fold it. This "poor water drainage" is the essence of the annoyance on rainy days.

What we aimed for was "quick-drying" performance, where most droplets fall off with just two or three light shakes, allowing you to store the umbrella in your bag immediately. To achieve this, we needed not only the power of a strong water-repellent agent alone but also a multi-layered approach: a high-density base fabric weave and a process that allows the repellent to penetrate deep into every single fiber.

Imposing rigorous tests. A dedication to durability.

An "umbrella that is only good when new" is not our ideal. The enemies of water-repellent coating are friction, dirt, and, unexpectedly, "hand sebum." To resist these and maintain performance for a long time, we conduct repeated, rigorous laundry tests by third-party organizations based on the international standard "AATCC 22 (Spray Test)."

For example, our ultra-lightweight model, pentagon67, maintains a water repellency score of 100 (full marks) even under the harsh condition of 20 wash cycles. The VERYKAL series, trusted in business settings, also demonstrates high durability. These objective figures are proof of our obsession with ensuring that "water droplets do not linger" over the long term.

Being sincere to the environment and the skin

While pursuing functionality, we also re-examined the "quality of safety." In the past, powerful water-repellent agents typically contained "PFOA," a chemical substance of environmental concern.

We were quick to adopt a PFOA-free design (with some exceptions). Because these are items you touch every day, we believe that even invisible components should be clean. We believe this is the true comfort required for the modern era.
