A sudden gust of wind on a summer afternoon, or the moment you are blown by the wind from a building. The most frightening thing when using a parasol is the fear that the wind will break it. In developing the KALCT HEATBLOCK , in addition to lightness, we also pursued a "science of structure" that would not be affected by even the harshest winds.
Registered design, uniquely developed "integrated resin joint"
Most ordinary umbrellas use metal parts at the joints that connect the ribs. However, when metal receives a strong impact, it can bend and not return to its original shape, or the stress can be concentrated at the joints, causing it to break.
The answer we arrived at was the "integrated resin joint," a registered design. The greatest feature of this structure is that it does not absorb the impact of the wind at a single point, but rather the entire joint absorbs it. Taking advantage of the inherent flexibility of resin, the frame moves flexibly in response to wind pressure, preventing the concentration of stress that can cause damage.
Numerical data proves wind resistance from all directions
To verify the true value of this design, a third-party organization conducted rigorous wind tests, blowing wind at every angle (0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°) – horizontally, diagonally, directly above, and behind the umbrella.
The test conditions were to accelerate the wind speed to 15 m/s (54 km/h) and maintain that speed for one minute. 54 km/h is comparable to the speed at which a car travels on a public road, and is a strong wind that rattles signs and makes walking difficult. Even under these harsh conditions, the KALCT frame showed no damage, significant deformation, or abnormal stitching.
Furthermore, its strength was unwavering even in a "repeated strength test" in which the umbrella was repeatedly closed from a bent-over position (like a stoop) 100 times.
