So that I can walk with that shade again next year.

The sunlight is getting milder, and signs of autumn are beginning to appear. Parasols have protected our skin and body temperature throughout the harsh summer, but many of us are probably starting to put them away in our closets.

To keep your favorite parasol in top condition for as long as possible, the ritual of "maintenance" at the end of each season is essential. A high-performance parasol is not just an extension of rain gear, but a "precision piece of equipment" that is coated with a special coating.

We will explain the correct way to care for your window shade so that you can recreate that refreshingly cool feeling the moment you open it next summer.

Warm water at 40°C will protect its functionality.

The basics of caring for a parasol are surprisingly simple: wash gently, dry thoroughly, and store it in a fluffy condition. That's all there is to it.

First, use lukewarm water (around 40°C) to wash. Reduce the pressure of the shower and gently rub the surface of the fabric to remove dirt. The important thing here is to avoid using any detergent or bleach.

The special coating and water-repellent layer that provide 100% light blocking are extremely sensitive to chemicals, and even detergents that you may use with good intentions can actually impair their functionality.

Fingerprints and light dirt can be removed with just lukewarm water. A pro tip is to avoid getting too much water directly on the seams to prevent rusting of the frame.

The most important process is "drying in the shade."

Drying is even more important than cleaning. Storing a parasol while it is still wet or half-dry is the biggest cause of mold and unpleasant odors.

After wiping off the water, let it dry slowly in a well-ventilated area in the shade. Since moisture tends to remain in the overlapping areas of the fabric, do not store it until you can check with your fingertips that it is completely dry.

When storing, it is best to fold the bag loosely along the creases without tightening the band too much. By not putting too much pressure on the fabric, you can prevent deterioration of the coating and wrinkles, and you can start using it in a beautiful shape next season.

October is the perfect time to give your parasol a rest as UV rays decrease. Show your appreciation for your companion that has been with you all summer by giving it a little extra care. This little bit of effort will ensure a more comfortable summer next year.
