I want to eliminate the "psychological burden" of carrying an umbrella
"It's convenient, but it's heavy and gets in the way in your bag." This has been the fate of automatic opening and closing umbrellas up until now. In the end, it becomes a hassle to carry around, and when you're out and about and it suddenly starts raining, you end up rushing to buy an additional plastic umbrella... I'm sure we've all had that experience. I've been researching umbrella structures and materials for over 30 years, and I'm convinced that what users really want is an umbrella that's both "light" enough that you forget you're carrying it, and "thin" enough to fit neatly into the gaps in your bag.
Trial and error to achieve the unconventional thinness of 25mm
The biggest challenge in development was how to create a "flat" shape while maintaining the complex drive parts for automatic opening and closing. We minimized the shaft diameter and used a unique hybrid structure for the frame that combines lightweight, strong carbon fiber and aluminum. We also selected a lightweight material for the fabric, made from a high-density weave of ultra-fine 15-denier yarn, which allowed us to maintain strength while reducing thickness. Our obsession with a "25mm thickness"—a figure that fits as neatly as a smartphone—is evident.
