"Automatic umbrellas are convenient, but so heavy they're a chore to carry." Every time we heard these words, our hearts sank. Even though you want to keep one in your bag for sudden rain, eventually the weight becomes too much to bear, and you end up leaving it behind on your desk or at the entryway. Conventional automatic umbrellas weigh around 300g on average, failing to achieve true "portability." We wanted to resolve this dilemma between convenience and weight, and create an umbrella that brings freedom to your everyday life.
Beyond the success of "world-class lightness," into the realm once called impossible
After the success of developing the incredibly lightweight "pentagon series," our passion turned toward reducing the weight of the more complex automatic umbrella. However, lightening an automatic umbrella is no easy task. We had to push the shaft (the central rod)—the heart that operates the umbrella—to its thinnest possible limit, and redesign the internal springs from scratch. By optimizing the spring tension to match the slimmed-down shaft, we didn't just achieve a lighter weight; we also gained a "light touch" that makes it easy for women and children to operate.

This precise balance is only possible thanks to the 15-denier ultra-thin fabric we insisted on. If the fabric were too heavy, it would disrupt the balance with the slim shaft, making it impossible to maintain durability. For the ribs, we lavishly used tough carbon fiber—the same material used in aircraft—to pursue a structure capable of withstanding 15m/s winds. By accumulating such attention to detail, including shrinking the handle by millimeters, we finally achieved a world-class lightweight figure of just 164g—about the weight of a smartphone.

Having cleared a 500-cycle opening and closing durability test, it possesses the reliability to be used for a long time. If we ignored quality and usability and chased only specs, perhaps we could have made something even lighter. However, our pride would not allow us to sacrifice the product's perfection as a tool.
