Fabric produced in an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified factory

The fabric used in Ambel umbrellas is produced in an Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified factory.

This certification is only given to products that pass rigorous analytical tests for over 350 harmful chemicals, and is recognized as a textile product that meets the world's highest standards of safety.

Amvel's mission is to provide safe and reliable fabrics to both makers and users.

PFOA-free

Conventional umbrella water repellents often contain PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid).

PFOA easily accumulates in the human body and is said to have adverse health effects if ingested over a long period of time, so there is a global trend toward PFOA-free products.

Amvel has been one of the first to adopt this trend, and will be gradually switching over to this method from production from autumn 2020 onwards.

At Amvel, we prioritize the health and safety of our customers above all else.

Zinc plating and nickel plating are avoided as much as possible

Umbrella frames contain many metal components, many of which are zinc- or nickel-plated for aesthetic appeal.

However, Ambel minimizes the areas that require plating and instead uses electroplating, an alternative technology to plating.

This is a choice that reduces the environmental impact while also taking into consideration the health of the artisans.

Amvel continues to pursue honest manufacturing, paying attention to even the invisible parts.
