Fabric produced in OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified factories

The fabric for Amvel umbrellas is produced in factories certified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

This certification is awarded only to products that have passed rigorous analytical testing for over 350 harmful substances, and is recognized as the world's highest standard for textile safety.

Providing safe and secure fabric for both the people who make our products and the people who use them is Amvel's mission.

PFOA-free

Conventional umbrella water repellents often contain PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid).

PFOA is known to easily accumulate in the human body and is said to have potential health impacts with long-term exposure, leading to a global movement toward becoming PFOA-free.

Amvel was quick to adopt this trend, and has been transitioning to PFOA-free production since the autumn of 2020.

Prioritizing the health and safety of our customers above all else is the Amvel way.

Minimizing the use of zinc and nickel plating

Many metal parts are used in umbrella frames, and most are zinc or nickel plated for aesthetic purposes.

However, Amvel minimizes the use of plating where possible, adopting electrodeposition coating as an alternative technology.

This is a choice that reduces environmental impact while also protecting the health of our craftsmen.

Amvel pays attention even to the details you cannot see, and we continue to pursue honest, sincere craftsmanship.
