The VERYKAL LARGE Flat addresses the challenge of "large automatic open/close umbrellas being heavy and bulky" by incorporating a unique flat design. Despite its large size with 60cm ribs, its thickness when stored is approximately 2.5cm. Furthermore, it uses 100% light-blocking fabric (*1), allowing you to carry it smartly on both rainy and sunny days.

With recent temperature increases, there's a growing practical demand for parasols with heat-shielding performance.

However, fabrics with high heat-shielding properties tend to be thicker and heavier. When combined with a one-touch automatic opening/closing function and a large size, this created a challenge: they became bulky and lost portability. The development of a product that could protect against heat without taking up much space in a bag. That was the starting point for "VERYKAL LARGE Flat."

Our goal was practicality, not only for sun protection but also for mitigating the heat from direct sunlight.

However, achieving "high heat-shielding," "large size," and "one-touch automatic opening/closing" while simultaneously maintaining a "flat thinness that fits into the gaps of a bag" were contradictory elements in conventional designs. The biggest challenge was how to suppress the volume when stored while maintaining the umbrella's strength.

So, we reevaluated the parts from scratch and worked on a structural design that incorporated all functions into a flat form.

We adopted lightweight and flexible carbon fiber for the frame and "HEATBLOCK," a thin, three-layer next-generation light-blocking fabric, for the canopy. Through thorough verification of the arrangement when folded, we created a slim all-weather umbrella measuring approximately 2.5 cm thick and weighing about 260 g.

This product was recognized for its harmony of size and functionality, earning it the "Makuake Of The Year 2024" award.

Q1: Automatic opening and closing sounds convenient, but are there any precautions to take when storing it?
A: When collapsing the shaft (central pole), you need to push down a strong internal spring, so be sure to use both hands to push the handle all the way down to the base and lock it in one smooth motion. If you don't apply enough force, it may spring back halfway. Also, to prevent accidental operation, always check your surroundings for safety and operate it away from your face. Please exercise caution when used by people with weak arm strength or children.

Q2: After using it on a rainy day, do the water droplets drain completely?
A: The fabric is treated with a water-repellent finish called "Easy-Dry," so you can remove most of the water droplets by simply shaking it lightly a few times after use. This treatment also boasts excellent durability, maintaining high test results with an initial water repellency score of 90, and 85 even after 20 washes.

Q3: Can it withstand strong winds?
A: The main parts are made of flexible carbon fiber, and the structure has cleared wind resistance tests at 15m/s. However, during actual typhoons or extremely strong winds, we recommend refraining from use as it may lead to damage to the umbrella or unexpected injuries.

■ 生地の色味・風合いについて

同一ロットの生地を使用している場合でも、裁断箇所の違いにより、傘本体と付属の収納袋とで色の濃淡がわずかに異なる場合がございます。

■ 撥水機能とメンテナンス
撥水加工は永久的なものではありません。ご使用中の摩擦、雨に含まれる不純物、皮脂等の付着により、徐々に効果が低下します。
撥水力が低下すると生地表面が濡れたように見えることがありますが、裏側に浸透していなければ雨漏りではありません。撥水力が弱まった場合は、市販の撥水スプレーでお手入れしていただくことで効果が回復します。

■ 開く前の準備
傘を開く際は、バンドを外して2〜3回軽く振り、生地と骨を十分にほぐしてから開いてください。生地や骨が絡まった状態で無理に開こうとすると、故障・骨折れの直接的な原因となります。

■ 耐風性能に関するご注意
表示の耐風数値は試験設備内での計測値であり、いかなる強風にも耐えられることを保証するものではありません。
突風や多方向からの風を受ける実際の荒天時には、破損や怪我の原因となりますので、無理なご使用はお控えください。風が強いときは、傘を風上に向けて使用してください。

■ 穴あき・劣化の防止
・圧迫禁止：カバンの中で傘が強く圧迫され続けると、フレームと生地が擦れて穴あきやコーティング剥離の原因となります。
・保管：ご使用後は軽く水気を払い、直射日光を避けて陰干ししてください。濡れたままの放置はカビや錆、生地劣化の原因となります。

■ 自動開閉傘のご使用上の注意

① 重要：手動で開閉しないでください
開くときも閉じるときも、必ずボタン操作を行ってください。手動で無理に開閉すると、内部の機械構造が破損し、故障の原因となります。

② 顔や体から離して操作してください
開閉ボタンを押す際や、シャフト（中棒）を収納する際は、顔や体から離し、周囲の安全を十分に確認してください。誤った操作は、傘の飛び出しや跳ね返りによる重大な怪我につながる恐れがあります。

③ 収納時は「カチッ」と音がするまで
シャフトを縮める際は、両手でハンドルと石突（先端）をしっかり持ち、一気に押し込んでください。「カチッ」とロック音がするまで確実に押し込まないと、バネの力でハンドルが激しく跳ね返り大変危険です。

④ 誤作動防止
持ち運び時にボタンが押されないようご注意ください。

⑥年齢制限
収納時に強い力が必要です。15歳未満のお子様や、操作に十分な力がない方は単独での使用をお控えください。

■ シャフト（中棒）の仕様
折りたたみ傘のシャフトは、スムーズな伸縮操作と、風などの衝撃を逃がすために、あえて接続部分に「あそび（隙間）」を持たせる構造になっています。
新品の状態でも多少の揺れやぐらつきが感じられる場合がありますが、破損を防ぐための正常な仕様（良品）ですので、安心してお使いください。
