As you use an umbrella over a long period, which part do you touch the most? It isn't the "fabric," the face of the umbrella, but the grip—the handle. We have chosen to sell "just the handle" rather than the umbrella itself. It may seem like a modest part at first glance, but it is packed with compelling reasons that determine the perfection of an umbrella as a tool.
Breathing New Life into Your Trusted Umbrella
In the pursuit of compactness, most folding umbrella handles are a short 3cm or so. However, recent climate changes have brought an increase in sudden strong winds and heavy rain. In such conditions, simply holding a tiny handle with your fingertips is unreliable; there is a need for the stability that comes with a full-fist grip, like that of an automatic opening and closing umbrella.
Additionally, resin parts frequently used for handles have the unavoidable issue of becoming "sticky" due to aging. It is a wasteful experience to give up on a favorite umbrella just because the handle has deteriorated. Driven by a desire to eliminate such waste, we decided to offer our high-density EVA foam handle as a standalone product.
The Surprisingly Lightweight Unity of "High-Density EVA"
For this newly developed handle, we used high-density EVA, a material also found in the soles of athletic shoes. The biggest features of this material are its extraordinary lightness and its grip, which remains unaffected even when wet. Including the strap, it weighs approximately 16g. When you hold it, the umbrella's center of gravity shifts toward your hand, making the umbrella feel even lighter than the numerical weight suggests.
It resists the cold of winter and prevents slipping from summer sweat. And above all, it is resistant to that unpleasant stickiness. By securing a "length you can firmly grip" of 7cm, it reduces the anxiety of the umbrella being blown about on windy days, offering a sense of unity as if it has become a part of your own body.
This handle features a screw-on design, allowing it to be attached not only to our "TOUGHNESS" and "KALCT" series, but also to folding umbrellas from other manufacturers with compatible screw threads.
Don't replace your umbrella—refine it.
